In 2018, Westminster’s Vision Quest process led us to four God Sized dreams - visions we could only accomplish with God’s help. One of them was to Work Toward Affordable Housing. Members of the congregation explored what might be meaningful uses of our adjoining property. Sports fields? More space for church growth? Providing safe and affordable housing for individuals who are working members of our community was mentioned most often. Teachers, police, medical assistants, and other healthcare workers often can’t afford to live here, where they work. The Home Team has been investigating how we can Be the Church by encouraging development of such housing on our property to help the greater community. We recently initiated preliminary discussions with the Westtown Township Board of Supervisors to gauge their interest and get feedback on how this ministry vision might be advanced. We’ll keep you posted with any updates.
