Ensuring a strong financial foundation is one of Westminster’s goals. Annual support for the ministry and mission of the church comes from generous pledges at our fall stewardship campaign. Legacy Giving provides additional income to help support the planned, as well as unanticipated opportunities for both present and future ministries. As the church’s “savings account” its earnings help ensure the continuation of key programs and protects the church from adverse circumstances.
Legacy participants have generously given to Westminster through bequests in their wills, annuities, trusts, life insurance, and in many other ways.
There are many ways to give. Although the choices may seem overwhelming at first, they are simply different options designed to fit various circumstances and meet individual goals. Only you will be able to determine how a Legacy Gift fits into your estate plan. For the purpose of planning with charitable intentions, giving is divided into two broad categories: gifts made now, and gifts made later.

What Legacy Giving Does
Legacy giving to Westminster Presbyterian Church exists in order to enlarge the mission of God through our congregation. A Legacy gift can help continue Westminster’s service in our own lives and in the lives of others in the community where we live as well as around the world.
These are some examples of what Legacy Giving can do to enlarge the mission and ministry of Westminster.
Capital Fund: Supports expansion and ongoing building improvements.
Legacy Fund: Supports extraordinary programs and ministry initiatives within this congregation. Can be specific to Music, Thrift Shop, Spiritual Growth, or Women’s Ministries.
Endowment Fund: Gifts to this fund are held in perpetuity; only the income from these gifts are used for grants. An Endowment Board of Managers with the approval of Session award Grants from this fund to support new programs at Westminster, local and non-local mission, and international mission.
