Youth Serve
Along with some occassional opportunities to serve their local and global community, there are some more regular opportunities for youth to participate with some of our community partners:
CASA Youth Advocates Advent Challenge 2024
In partnership with CASA Youth Advocates, we are issuing a challenge to Westminster youth to help us make court comfort bags for youth and children in the child welfare system during their appointed hearings. These bags helps comfort and calm teens and children from the stress that can be experienced with such court hearings. Families can sign up to purchase items and drop them off at Westminster anytime through December 22. We will assemble the bags at our annual Youth Group Christmas party on the 22nd.
You can sign up for items HERE and purchase those items on the CASA Amazon wishlist HERE.
Soap for Hope Workshops
We partner with Educational Equity Alliance to support them in their Soap for Hope initiative. This workshop teaches youth how to make soap, helps build EEA’s soap inventory, and teaches youth about the importance of equity in our public education.
Next Workshop: Saturday, February 22, 2025
Safe Harbor Lunches
Youth can sign up to help pack bagged lunches for Safe Harbor in West Chester. Lunches are then provided for those who are unhoused and/or experiencing poverty.
Next Lunch Packing: TBD
MLK Jr. Day of Service
We pack and collect lunches to be delivered to families around Chester County through The Vine Ministry
Next MLK Jr. Day of Service: January 19, 2025
