The Anxious Generation Workshop
May 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

5:30 – 7:30 pm May 4 & 5
In The Anxious Generation, Jonathan Haidt lays out a compelling argument for the impact of smartphones and social media on the mental health of today’s adolescents. He describes a shift since the 2010s from a “child-based” childhood to a “phone-based” one and its troubling result on children and youth. We will discuss what the research tells us about an unintended impact of the digital age on today’s young people and steps that can be taken to halt this disturbing trend. The conversation will be led by Lori Willingham and Rev. John Willingham, a retired school nurse and pastor. You don’t need to read the book ahead of time, but simply come with a desire to learn more and be part of the change. Meals and child care are provided. $10 suggested donation to cover the cost of the meals.
