Audrey's Reflection on the Middle School Fall Retreat

My name is Audrey and I am a 7th grader at Patton Middle School. I have been involved in the youth ministry since last year and I have loved it. I am a part of the youth ministry because it makes me feel like I can express myself and be involved in the church with other kids my age. Through the youth ministry I have seen God in so many different people, especially a few weekends ago on the middle school retreat. During the retreat, I was feeling sick, so on the first night during the scripture lesson I spent most of it outside. A couple of amazing girls spent the night outside with me keeping me company so that I wouldn’t have to be alone. I saw God in these two girls immensely. Through Imago dei I have learned so much about following Jesus. I feel as though following Jesus is a process. This process is one that is impossible to do alone. In Hebrews 10:24-25 it says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” This means that the church is all about coming together and helping and encouraging one another. Through Imago dei I have learned this to the greatest extents and I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing ministry.
