General Information

It is our goal to provide a nurturing Christian environment for children 6 weeks old to kindergarten age.

Childcare is a safe and loving atmosphere that includes age-appropriate activities, toys, guided free play, stories, and snack time.

The children are cared for by qualified staff members and volunteers. Our childcare staff provides consistency for the children and maintains high standards in health and safety.  Our volunteers provide support for our childcare staff.

Childcare is located in Room 443 of the Heckert Education Building.  We may also utilize Room 444 when we have a large number of children.

Our childcare room is equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment. We strive to ensure that each child will begin to feel and understand the love of Jesus.

Childcare is offered during all worship services on Sundays and during select church functions on weekdays.

Childcare Registration

Registration form

In person:
Forms are available in the office or outside of the childcare room.

Important Guidelines

  • Childcare is open 15 minutes prior to services or church functions for which childcare has been requested.
  • We ask that parents come for their child(ren) immediately following the service or function.
  • Parent(s) must attend a church service or function in order to utilize childcare and are not permitted to leave the building while their child(ren) are in childcare.
  • If your child is crying during drop-off, kindly check on him/her after 15 minutes.
  • When possible, please sit in the back rows on the sides of the sanctuary so that childcare staff can locate you if necessary.

Health and Safety

Please refrain from bringing your child to childcare if he/she has had any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours: an acute cold, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, rash or sores on skin, earache, headache, listlessness, pink eye, swollen glands, sore throat, or any contagious disease.

The childcare staff follows procedures to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the room and items that are used by the children.  They also adhere to appropriate caregiver-to-child ratios.  If the number of children exceeds the safe ratio, parents will be asked to provide emergency volunteer assistance.

Childcare Checklist

  • Do you have a diaper bag labeled with your child’s name?
  • Are your sippy cups, bottles, and pacifiers labeled with your child’s name?
  • Did you put nametag on your child’s back? (Nametags are provided outside of the childcare room)
  • Did you write any allergies or special instructions on your child’s nametag?
  • Did you sign in on your card or the provided sign-in sheet?
  • Did you (one parent only please) hand your card to a childcare staff member before releasing your child?

Volunteer Information

To help support the childcare ministry, we ask that families who utilize childcare please volunteer two times per year.  We also encourage members of the congregation who do not have small children to volunteer and share their gifts!

To begin the process of becoming a volunteer, please contact Dede Anderson, or sign up outside of the childcare room.

Reserving Childcare

Leaders of church groups requesting childcare for a special event or meeting need to submit a request form and a sign-up form.  The forms are also available outside of the childcare room and in the church office.  The forms need to be submitted to the Childcare Coordinator mailbox (in the office) at least 2 weeks in advance to allow for sufficient staffing and preparation.
